CASA is a court-based agency that recruits and trains community volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for  children who are involved in the Juvenile Court Systems due to abuse and neglect. These trained volunteers help to serve the best interests of the children as they navigate the system. The Friends of CASA is a small non-profit that supports the mission of Athens CASA. The proceeds and donations from the Superhero 5k, Vol VI will help to support the Athens CASA/GAL Program which allows more community volunteers to be recruited and trained.
